When Jimmy Buffett appeared on “Today” this past week, he offered his Hamptons neighbor Matt Lauer “a ride home,”.
But it wasn’t to get in any carpool lane on the LIE.
“They were seen landing later on Sag Harbor waters in Buffett’s seaplane, which he piloted,” a spy said.
Buffett was in the city for rehearsals of his upcoming Broadway musical, “Escape to Margaritaville.”
He revealed on “Today” that he plans to have “tailgating” for his fans, aka “parrotheads,” at the show at the Marquis Theatre. Buffett was also seen the night before “Today” with the show’s cast at the McKittrick Hotel’s Gallow Green, where “the musical’s producers hosted a party that went into the wee hours.”
