Jimmy Buffett's Under the Big Top Tour rolled into the First Niagara Bank Pavilion on Thursday night, and like any good ringmaster, he's willing to share the spotlight with the rest of his troupe.

His version of "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" had Mac McAnally singing the Alan Jackson part, Tina Gullickson and Peter Mayer both had shots at lead lines on "Trip Around the Sun," and Nadirah Shakoor shone on "Creola."

Another recurrent theme running through the show was pride in one's roots, carried through from the opening "Nobody From Nowhere," and continuing with a cover of the Zac Brown Band's "Where the Boat Leaves From" and the McAnally-penned "Back Where I Come From," (a hit for Kenny Chesney), which also featured family photos of Buffett and McAnally from their childhood days.

Buffett also gave props to the local fans, whom he said inspired a large part of the tour's title song. He said that when he thought about writing a song about his fans, he recalled an earlier trip to the venue then known as Star Lake, when a lightning strike took out the power. Buffett told the crowd he'd play if someone could find him a generator, and if anyone was unhappy, he'd give them their money back. That show was performed with one light and a few speakers, and, he noted, not a person asked for a refund.

Despite the heat, no one would have asked for their money back from this trip to Burgettstown, either.
